Kuill, T. | Lauringson, E. (Estonian Agricultural Univ., Tartu (Estonia). Dept. of Field Crop Husbandry)
The weediness of Estonian fields is raising. Weed control is often unsystematic and based on random use of chemical weed control what has decreased several times. More than one fourth of arable land has been switched off production - fields have changed to weed plains. It is necessary to have a general system of weed control, which could solve problems of weed control as effectively and economically as possible. An important component of united weed control system is evolution of soil fertility, studying biological features of species which are forming agrophytocoenosis and evolution of the danger caused by weediness at the present economical state. Knowing and considering these measures in actual soil tillage would give the opportunity to realize crops ability to compete more effectively with weeds in field plant community
