Aluminium enhances the voltage activated sodium currents in the neurons of the pond snail Lymnaea stagnalis L.

The data presented in this paper demonstrate that aluminium significantly increased the amplitude of the isolated sodium currents in identified and some unidentified neurons of the snail Lymnaea stagnalis L., at pH 7.7 where negative charged aluminium complexes are present in the bath solution.
