[Establishment and utilization of lucerne pastures on East Lithuania's hilly soddy podzolic soil]

A feasibility of lucerne growing and utilization in pasture was investigated and assessed for the first time in Lithuania on sody podzolic weakly and medium podzolized medium heavy loam and sandy loam soils. Various lucerne-grass mixtures were investigated, including their fertilization and utilization. The effect of nitrogen fertilizers on lucerne yield, botanical composition and forage quality was estimated.
