Enzyme supplementation of corn-soybean based broiler and layer diets

In the broiler experiment, digestibility of dry matter, crude protein, crude fiber and nitrogen-free extract of the broiler finisher diet were not significantly influenced by enzyme supplementation. However, digestibility of ether extract of the diet supplemented with enzyme A was significantly (P0.05) lower compared to the control diet but not significantly different (P0.05) from diets supplements with other enzymes. The feed consumption of broilers fed corn-soybean based diets supplemented with enzyme differed significantly (P0.05) at 28 but not at 42 days of age. Enzyme supplementation of corn-soybean based diets showed no significant (P0.05) effect on the body weight, body weight gain, feed efficiency, mortality rate and dressing percentage of broilers. Likewise, income over feed and chick cost (IOFCC) was not influenced by enzyme supplementation of corn-soybean based broiler diets. In the layer experiment, the biweekly and overall average percentage egg production, egg weight, feed consumption, feed efficiency, body weight gain and income over feed cost (IOFC) of pullets were not significantly (P0.05) influenced by dietary enzyme supplemenation. Yolk color scores and shell thickness of eggs were likewise not significantly influenced by enzyme supplementation of the diets
