Production of acid protease by Aspergillus niger A.n.41/4 in the solid-state medium. Pt. 2. Technical scale experiments

Two methods of the Aspergillus niger A.n.41/4 culture in solid-state medium for production of acid protease in the industrial scale conditions were compared. The cultures in thin layers of non-mixed medium on trays gave the best results of acid protease biosynthesis when the thickness of medium layer was 2 to 3 cm. For the culture in thick layer of medium in a growing chamber the most favourable conditions were: the initial humidity of the medium 60-65 percent, the thickness of layer 10-12 cm and crushing of mycelium penetrated culture medium periodically. The latter technique of A.niger A.n.41/4 culture was chosen as more convenient. This method is still used for commercial production of acid protease preparation under the trade name "Proteopol FP-T"
