The pot experiment was conducted during 1990-94 in the greenhouse of Agricultural Experiment Station Swojec near Wroclaw. The effect of changing soil moisture during growing season and two rates of mineral fertilizers on growth and development of winter triticale on light soil was examined. On average increased NPK rate extended growing season of winter triticale by one decade, increased the surface of the flag leaf, chlorophyl content and cell sap concentration in triticale leaves. The surface of the flag leaf and lenght of culms depended on soil moisture at flowering. Concentration of the cell sap decreased as soil moisture increased
