In 1994-96 the studies on the effects of 2 pea cultivars (Kama and Rubin) and harvest and threshing dates (threshing immediately after harvesting and after dessication) on moisture content, weight and structure of the shoot system at the stages of seed formation and advanced ripeness were carried out. The time from emergence to flowering was 3 to 10 days longer in the case of Kama and also the growing season was 2 to 13 days longer as compared to that to Rubin. The weight of seeds per plant was 9 percent higher in Kama as compared to Rubin cultivar, whereas the weight of seeds after dessication was 10 percent higher as compared to that of the material threshed immediately after harvesting. The percentage of seeds in dry matter content of the plant was gradually increasing with advanced ripeness of seeds
