A Comparison Between the Efficiency of Male-sterility and Self-incompability in Eucalyptus grandis to Promote Interspecific Hybridization

The rate of interspecific hybridization between Eucalyptus grandis and E. urophylla was examined in two commercial clonal seed-orchards in Brazil. The development of hybrids was found to be at least 30 % superior to that of the plants produced by self fertilization.
