The research aimed at testing some soluble fertilizers with nitrogen based on urea (additional compounds of urea) and classical fertilizers (ammonium nitrate and ammonium sulphate), concerning their comparative effect on two different types of soil with low fertility (psamosoil and limed albic luvic soil) on the ryegrass test-plant (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) and their influence on the pH. The obtained data indicate that urea and ammonium nitrate are the best fertilizers on both types of soil and the ammonium sulphate is the less indicated because of the high acidification potential. Its use is recommended only under the conditions of liming. The soluble urea derivatives, which are relatively new fertilizers, may also be used, with higher efficiency on psamosoil
