Potential climate change impactions on irrigation management

The simulations were carried out to evaluate the impacts of possible climate change on water balance and irrigation requirement in Slovak Republic. The GCMs and incremental scenarios of climate change were used. According to the simulations, the increase of potential evapotranspiration as well as the decrease of both actual and relative evapotranspiration can be expected up to the year 2075. Decrease of the soil water content during the growing period was simulated for most of the scenarios. In consequence of increased irrigation need, the new irrigation system building will be required
