1995
Watcharee Saetia
Study was conduced to determine the effects of foliar sprays and chemical fertilizer (4-16-24+ 4MgO + 0.5 Borax) on yield and quality of flue-cured tobacco (cv. K326). A field experiment was conducted from October 1992 to March 1993 at Mae Jo Experiment Station Chiang Mai Nine treatments were arranged in a Randomized Complete Block Design with four replications. The treatments were performed: 1. No fertilizer. 2. Chemical fertilizer applied at 50 kg/Rai. 3. Chemical fertilizer applied at 100 kg/Rai. 4. Chemical fertilizer applied at 50 kg/Rai with six foliar applications of "Fertinova" at 100 ml/20 liters of water, at 7, 14, 21, 28, 35 and 42 days after transplanting. 5. Chemical fertilizer applied at 50 kg/Rai with three foliar applications of "Vigrifol" at 110 ml/20 liters of water at 20,40 and 60 days after transplanting. 6. Chemical fertilizer applied at 100 kg/Rai with six foliar applications of "Fertinova" at 100 ml/20 liters of water, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35 and 42 days after transplanting. 7. Chemical fertilizer applied at 100 kg/Rai with three foliar applications of "Vigrifol" at 110 ml/20 liters of water at 20, 40 and 60 days after transplanting. 8. Six foliar applications of " Fertinova" at 100 ml/20 liters of water, at 7, 14, 21, 28, 35 and 42 days after tranplanting 9. Three foliar applications of "Vigrifol" at 110 ml/20 liters of water at 20, 40 and 60 days after transplanting. The result gave no significant differences in weights of fresh and cured leaves, crop value, the chemical composition of cured leaves, nicotine content, reducing sugars and the ratios of reducing sugars to nicotine among the treatments.
