Influence of some ecological factors on the growth of Aspergillus fumigatus and the production of aflatoxins

The strains of Aspergillus fumigatus, isolated in our laboratory capable to produce aflatoxins. This study was performed in order to determine the role of temperature, pH and kinds of media in biomass generation and aflatoxin production in liquid shake cultures of Aspergillus fumigatus. The results of these investigations indicate that different kinds of media, as well as differences in pH values and temperatures have a considerable effect on the rate of aflatoxin production and on the biomass of Aspergillus fumigatus.
