Effective managing in process industry understands simultaneous consideration of technological as well as marketing aspects. Key role in such integral observation of all significant aspects of processing has the segment: optimal production planning, which is based on linear program model application (LP). The application possibilities of linear programming method are well known in dairy industry (ice-cream, native and processed cheese or complex model for dairy processing various products). This review represents software package MERLIN and the advantages of its application using native cheese production planning as an example.
