Studies on the content of total organic carbon (C org.%), extracted organic carbon by a solution 0.1 M Na4P2O7 + NaOH (C extr.%), carbon of humic and fluvic acids (Ch, %; Cf%), unextracted carbon (C unextr.%), as well as the ratios between extintions of the obtained solutions at 465 and 665 nm were carried out. It was found out that in the unpolluted soils the relationship between: C org.(x) and C extr., C unextr., Ch, respectively (y), was expressed by linear type equations: y=a+bx. The estimated values differed from the analytical data with 1-4%. The pollution by oil products caused the increase in C org., C extr., C unextr., where as oxidized C after the pollution was nearly 29-36% from the pollutant amount. The strongest influence of that pollution was observed on the ratio C extr./ C unextr., which changed from 2.05+ 0.18 of unpolluted soils to 3.5 + 1.1/1 of polluted ones.
