The objective of the experiments performed was to examine how and when maize-soya based diets of different phosporus content are fed (P content conforming to the Hungarian recommendations for nutrient requirements (1990) and reduced P content: diets containing native phosphorus + 1g/kg diet inorganic phosporus), phytase enzyme administrated in various dosages (0, 250, 500, and 1000 FTU/kg) influences on phosphorus and calcium availability and performance in broilers. The experimental data obtained indicate that, in the first half of the rearing period, where diets of reduced phosphorus content (4,8 g/kg) are fed, supplementation with phytase enzyme can enable the availability of both the calcium and the phosphorus content of the diet.
