Response of cow pea genotypes to environment productivity

Английский. Response of 16 cowpea genotypes to environment productivity were studied at Districts of Malang, Lumajang and Blitar during the late of dry seasons 1997. Field experiment using a split plot design replicated three times. The main plot was insecticide treatment, namely P0 = without insecticide application during the reproductive stages, and P1 = with insecticide application during the reproductive stages. The subplot was 16 cowpea genotypes. Data recorded were day to flowering, day to maturity, dry seed yields, seed size, plant height, fresh weight of biomass, number of healthy pod, number of damage pod, and number of empty pod. The insecticide applications during the reproductive stage was significantly reduced the pod damage. Therefore, yield with this treatment was higher than another treatment. Biomass production, harvest index, and yield were different among locations. Low or high biomass production were followed by low or high yield. According to the average of yield, the environment productivity of Blitar was the highest followed by Lumajang and Malang, namely 1.82 t/ha, 1.29 t/ha, and 1.03 t/ha, respectively. Day to flowering, day to maturity, plant height, biomass production, total pod number, and yield were highly sensitive to maturity, plant height, biomass production, total pod number and yield were highly sensitive to environment productivity. General response of cowpea to environment productivity were delayed for flowering and maturing, produced high biomass, and yield. индонезийский. Adanya interaksi genotipe dan lingkungan menyebabkan penampilan suatu genotipe berbeda di setiap lingkungan. Sebanyak 20 genotipe kacang tunggak telah diuji di tiga lokasi di Propinsi Jawa Timur yaitu di Kabupaten Malang, Blitar dan Kabupaten Lumajang pada bulan Juni-Oktober 1997. Percobaan dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan rancangan petak terpisah yang diulang tiga kali. Perlindungan tanaman (P0 = tanpa disemprot insektisida) sebagai petak utama. Sedang sebagai anak petak adalah 16 galur harapan kacang tunggak dan 4 varietas sebagai pembanding. Pengamatan meliputi umur berbunga, hasil biji kering, berat 100 biji, tinggi tanaman, berat brangkasan basah, jumlah polong sehat, jumlah polong rusak dan jumlah polong hampa. Hasil, produksi biomassa, dan indeks panen digunakan sebagai tolok ukur. Penyemprotan dengan insektisida selama stadia reproduktif berpengaruh positif dalam menekan jumlah polong yang rusak, sehingga hasil pada perlakuan ini lebih tinggi, dibanding tanpa insektisida. Hasil, produksi biomassa, dan indeks panen berbeda di setiap lokasi. Tinggi atau rendahnya biomassa tersebut diikuti dengan tinggi atau rendahnya hasil. Berdasarkan hasil rata-rata, ketiga lokasi pengujian digolongkan mewakili tiga tingkat produktivitas lingkungan, yakni rendah-sedang-tinggi masing-masing Malang, Lumajang dan Blitar dengan hasil rata 1,03 t/ha, 1,29 t/ha, dan 1,83 t/ha. Tanggap genotipe kacang tunggak yang diuji berbeda pada setiap produktivitas lingkungan, yang disebabkan oleh adanya serangan hama, tingkat kesuburan tanah, serta kelengasan tanah. Umur berbunga, umur panen, produksi biomassa, jumlah polong total, dan hasil sangat dipengaruhi oleh produktivitas lingkungan. Respon umum kacang tunggak terhadap produktivitas lingkungan berupa penundaan waktu berbunga ataupun waktu panen, serta menghasilkan biomassa atau hasil yang tinggi. Galur 191/VITA4-B-33 hasilnya konsisten superior di tiga tingkat produktivitas lingkungan. Galur tersebut perlu diuji lebih lanjut di berbagai lokasi untuk dinilai stabilitas dan adaptasinya sehingga memenuhi persyaratan dalam pelepasan varietas
