The objective of this research was to look in to about the production of sweet potato and soybeans in an intercropped system. The experimental results showed that, for sweet potato, the weight of the tuber per plant, the total plant dry weight, and the dry harvest index were not significantly (question mark) different among all treatments, whereas the number of tubers per plant was significantly different among treatments. The result also indicated that for soybeans, the sum of full bean pods per plant, the sum of empty bean pods per plant and the total plant dry weight were not significantly different among all treatments, but the dry weight of 100 seeds and the dry harvest index were significantly different. Computation of the Land Equivalent Ratio (LER), when intercropping the sweet potato cultivar Mouwebsi with the soybean variety Orba yielded a value of 1.937; however intercropping the Tiga Bulan sweet potato cultivar with the Orba soybean variety produced a LER value of 1.638
