Evaluation of irrigation efficiences and corn yield in alternate-furrow irrigation.

The application efficiency 41 in very furrow method increased to 64 in alternate furrow irrigation respectively the corn yield was 6.31 ton ha-1 under alternate-furrow irrigation as compared with 4.69 ton ha-1 under every-furrow irrigation the low yield under the latter irrigation method can be attributed to the leaching losses of nitrogen fertilizer from the top soil. water use efficiency in the alternate-furrow irrigation was much higher that in the every-furrow irrigation.
