Spermatophore performance of giant tiger prawn, Penaeus monodon spawner reared at different bottom soil texture ponds

Английский. Study on spermatophore performance of prawn Penaeus monodon reared at different ponds bottom soil textures was very limited. To overcome this, an experiment was conducted to known the sperm performance i.e. spermatophore weight, number of sperm and sperm abnormality of spawners reared at ponds with different bottom soil texture: (A) coral silt soil texture, (B) sandy clay loam soil texture and (C) acid soil texture. Results of the experiment indicated that percentages of abnormal sperm prawn were A (34.24 percent), B (26.11 percent), and C (28.64 percent) respectively. This data indicated that performance of sperm was very related to soil texture environment. Sandy clay loam soil texture gave the best performance of sperm due to good bottom condition, water quality, adequate plankton and abundance of organism (diatomae and benthos) as the main food resource. The spawners originated from sandy clay loam soil texture exhibited smaller sperm abnormalities (26.11 percent). This indicated that male performance will increase with increasing bottom soil texture quality and food availability

индонезийский. Pengamatan tentang keragaan spermatofora udang windu (Penaeus monodon) asal lingkungan tekstur tanah dasar yang berbeda masih sangat kurang. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut dilakukan pengamatan keragaan spermatofora yang meliputi: bobot spermatofora, jumlah sperma, dan persentase sperma abnormal udang windu jantan asal lingkungan tekstur tanah dasar yang berbeda yaitu: (A) lingkungan tekstur tanah dasar berkarang, (B) lingkungan tekstur tanah dasar liat berpasir dan (C) lingkungan tekstur tanah dasar masam. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa persentase sperma abnormal asal lingkungan tekstur yang berbeda di atas berturut-turut adalah: A (34,24 persen), B (26,11 persen), dan C (28,64 persen). Dari hasil ini diduga mutu sperma sangat erat hubungannya dengan lingkungan asal tekstur tanah dasar, yaitu udang asal tekstur tanah dasar liat berpasir memberikan keragaan sperma yang baik oleh karena didukung kondisi dasar, kualitas air, plankton, dan kelimpahan organisme (diatom dan benthos) yang cukup sebagai makanan utama selama proses pemeliharaan. Induk udang asal lingkungan tekstur tanah dasar liat berpasir mempunyai sperma abnormal yang lebih rendah (26,11 persen). Ini menunjukkan bahwa keragaan sperma induk jantan meningkat dengan meningkatnya kualitas tekstur tanah dasar dan makanan yang dibutuhkan
