[Spread and prophylaxis of EDS-76 in the Ukraine]

Due to the significant economic losses caused by the EDS-76 (egg drop syndrome) to the poultry farming of the country, the spread of the disease was studied in 19 poultry breeding farms. It was found that the disease was widely spread. Two hemoglutination viruses EDS-76 were isolated from the sick birds. It was established that they belong to Adenoviridae strain. With the aim of prophylaxis an emulsin-vaccine against EDS-76 is produced in the Ukraine Academy of Sciences Poultry-Breeding Institute.
