The analysis of animal bones found in the castle mount of Jersika

Animal bones found in the archeological excavations in the castle mount of Jersika were studied to clarify the structure of inhabitants' diet, the species of domestic animals and chases. Altogether 2531 bones of mammals were determined. 92.84% of the determined bones belong to domestic animals, 7.15% - to wild belong. The information about domestic animals in the ancient Jersika was specified. It was established that the main aim of hunting was the yield of furs.
