Social and sociological circumstances of a decision on taking up the studies in agricultural engineering

Unstable labour market makes challenge to the graduates in all disciplines and, indirectly, to all the universities and faculties. Agricultural engineering is not an exception and probably the pressure of time is stronger here than somewhere else. Consequently, it is necessery to recognize social grounds of functioning of the faculties educating agricultural engineers. The results of study on some characteristics of students' population on agricultural engineering faculty, Agricultural University of Krakow, showed their inconsistency to common opinion. For instance, the majority of actually studying young people are inhabitants of large towns who do not intend to work in agriculture
