[Action of the "male effect" and "female effect" on sheep of the Churra Galega Bragancana breed the seasonal anoestrus period [Portugal]]

Английский. The main objective of this study was to know the importance of the male and female effects on the interruption of the seasonal anoestrus of ewes from the Churra Galega Bragancana breed. The oestrous activity of 131 adult ewes (2-5 years old) was evaluated at the beginning of May. The anoestrus ewes were then divided into four different groups: A (n=20) - male effect, B (n=19) - male effect+female effect, C (n=19) - male effect+fenale effect (the direct contact between the ram and the ewes was not allowed) and D (n=19) - female effect. At the beginning of this study, 58% of the ewes presented no oestrous activity. The male effect was the main factor involved in the interruption of the seasonal anoestrus of the ewes. The female effect action was quite poor

Este estudo teve como principal objectivo quantificar a accao relativa do "efeito macho" e do "efeito femea" sobre a interrupcao do anestro sazonal de ovelhas da raca Churra Galega Bragancana. Procurou-se ainda colher alguma informacao sobre se o "efeito femea" resulta da producao de feromonas feita pelas ovelhas em cio ou de modificacoes que estas induzem no comportamento sexual dos carneiros. Um grupo de 131 ovelhas da raca Churra Galega Bragancana, com idades compreendidas entre 2 e 5 anos, foi inicialmente utilizado na realizacao deste ensaio. As que se encontravam em anestro sazonal foram divididas em quatro grupos e sujeitas a tratamentos distintos: A (n=20) - "efeito macho", B (n=19) - "efeito macho"+"efeito femea" (o carneiro foi impedido de entrar em contacto directo com as ovelhas) e D (n=19) - "efeito femea". Aquando do inicio deste trabalho, 58% das ovelhas encontravam-se em anestro sazonal. O "efeito macho" foi o principal factor desencadeador da interrupcao do anestro sazonal das ovelhas. O "efeito femea" constituiu um fraco indutor da interrupcao deste mesmo tipo de anestro. Neste sentido, as feromonas produzidas pelas ovelhas em cio induzido pouco efeito tiveram sobre a interrupcao do periodo de anestro sazonal
