Influence of sewage aerosols producted by a Chemical Factory "Organika-Zachem" in Bydgoszcz on some meadow oribatid (Acari, Oribatida) species

The influence of sewage aerosols produced by a Chemical Factory "Organika-Zachem" in Bydgoszcz on some meadow oribatid mite species was investigated. The polluted plots 1, 2, 3 were situated 25 m, 50 m, 150 m from the pollution source, respectively, while a control plot was situated 2000 m from this source. The aerosol pollution reduced the density and number species of Oribatida and also changed the dominance structure of these mites. Sensitive to sewage aerosols were Eupelops occultus, Liebstadia similis and Scheloribates laevigatus, while Tectocepheus velatus and Trichoribates novus tolerated them. In oribatid mites the adults predominated over juvenile stages
