A two-year small-plot experiment in the greenhouse was carried out to study the effect of nitrogenous nutrition and foliar application of saccharose on the yield of above- and under-ground radish biomass. The soil substrate was prepared from loamy orthic luvisol and the Terravita garden soil. Saccharose solution was applied on the leaves of radish 12 days before its harvest. It was found that gradually increased rates of nitrogen improve the formation of total radish biomass. Excessive nitrogen fertilization resulted mainly in the above-ground, foliar biomass, which can lead to the reduction in the root biomass creation. The application of saccharose had the positive influence on the growth of roots at both levels of nitrogenous nutrition. The best economic results were observed in the variant where radish was fertilized on the basis of the fertilization method for greenhouse radish, using the foliar application of saccrarose solution during vegetation
