The experimental observation of additional sowing of grasses and clovers into the semi-natural grass stand (asociation Lotio-Cynosuretum typicum) fertilized by 30 kg/ha and 60 kg/ha helped us to come to the following conclusions: Grassland plants belonging to the sort of dicotyledon (20.58% clover plants and 32.94% of meadow plants) dominated the structure of semi-natural grass stands. Triple cut semi-natural grass stands produced 6.42 t/ha of dry matter of hay containing 14.30-16.96% of crude protein, 21.13-31.63 of fibre, 6.21-7.33% of lignin, low values of NEL (4.93-5.38 MJ in 1 kg of dry matter) and high values of soluble phenols (3.25-3.51%) were found out in the dry matter of hay. The high content of soluble and non-soluble phenols was represented by high values of IANP (150.63-151.80). IANP used as a laboratory parameter allows an important improving when in vivo and in vitro values are compared
