The aim of this work was to compare production of milk (PM), metabolizable dry matter (MDM) and content of fat (% F), proteins (% P) and lactose (% L) in ewes of Improved Valachian (IV, 22 animals), Lacaune (Lc, 14 animals) breeds and IV x Lc crosses F1 generation (13 animals) on the basis of 6 control measurements of milk (CMM) in the period of sucking by lambs, and to evaluate the dependence PM and MDM from the weight of ewes (WE). For the multiple variance analysis were used with the parameters PM, MDM, % F, % P and % L the records from 293 control measurements of milk, and with WE and PM and MDM converted to kg metabolizable weight (WE0, 75) 97 CMM. Milk production in control measurements was estimated on the basis of milk amount produced approximately during four hours after separation of lambs and with oxytocin use. We found out that during the period of sucking by lambs was the production of milk and metabolizable dry matter in IV ewes (1916.4 ml or 210.4 g) significantly lower than in Lc ewes (2544.9 ml or 282.0 g). Calculated to kg metabolizable weight it was 111.43 ml or 12.74 g in Lc, 102.18 ml and 11.23 g in IV, however, the difference was statistically nonsignificant just as the differences between IV ewes and IV x Lc crosses. Similarly % F (6.28%), % P (4.73%) and % L (5.20%) were not influenced by genotype either. PM and MDM were besides the genotype influenced statistically significantly by the lactation order and number of sucking lambs (P 0.001), to a smaller degree by the control measurement of milk (P 0.05 or 0.001). We found positive phenotype correlations between the weight of ewes and production of milk as well as the metabolizable dry matter of milk (r
