1997
Nunlika Nipaporn
The Choen watershed basin in the Northeast Thailand, almost those in high mountain ranges are covered by the forest. It had been deforested by human settlement, particulary in conserve forest zone. The conversion of forest into agricultural and urban uses also arise consequent natural resource and environmental deteriolation both on-site and off-site in the short the long period of time. Then the government has a great awareness of land policy to establish guidelines for suitable land use and land cover pattern. The objectives of the study are; analyze the ralationships between land policy and land cover change, monitoring and identifying problem source. In addition, the application of land policy on land use can be applied indentify the most desirable land use and prediction of land cover changes in term of implement database. The results of the analyzation of the relationship between land policy and land cover change conclude that the policy can't be an effective implementation propery because of the forest area in Namnow National Park, Phuphamann National Park and watershed class I area have been decreased equivalent to 0.001 %, 0.009 % and 1.00 % of the watershed area in three years (1991 to 1994). However, the trend of forest area change has reduced when, compared with the rate of change in 1982. Stratification of the land use in Choen watershed can be classified into two zones with are conservation forest zone and agriculture zone. Conservation forest zone is 91.27 % of the total watershed area. Amongth those are protection forest zone equivalent to 74.86 %, reforestation equivalent to 1.08 % and protection environment zone equivalent to 15.34 %. While agriculture zone is 8.71 % of the total watershed area. They are paddy field zone equivalent to 2.34 %, farm and orchard zone equivalent to 6.37 %.
