Promoting gender equality in remote communities of Northeastern Thailand

This study is aiming at the household analysis of the gender division of labour, time use analysis, access and control of resources among the population of the ethic groups of Lass, Khmer, Suey, Bru/Kha in the northeastern province of Thailand, Ubon Ratchatani, Sri-Saket, Surin. The finding have shown that females take on heavier burden of both productive and Reproductive works with less leisure time than males. Female's access and control of resources remain very limited in particular, information than males. This in effect, is the major cause of females' lack of participation in the Community work. The mainstream development planning and implementation.
