Two hundred and eighty eight day-old Arbor Acres (CP 707) broiler chicks were randomly assigned to 4 experimental treatments which consisted of control, EM supplementation in drinking water, EM supplementation in feed and EM supplementation in both drinking water and feed. Results of 7-week experiment revealed that there was no significant effect of EM supplementation on production performance and carcass characteristics of broilers. For nutritive values of broiler meat, result showed that supplementation of EM tended to decrease the content of ash in meat. Under the condition of this study, contamination of E. coli and Salmonella in broiler meat was observed, however conclusion on the effect of EM supplementation could not be drawn from the experimental result.
