Study on the relationship between levels of amino acids and protein in soybean meal and fish meal was done in 76 and 154 samples of soybean meal and fish meal, respectively which randomly selected from the feedstuff production plants and from the incoming samples sent for chemical analysis at National Swine Research and Training Center, Kasetsart University, Kampaeng Saen, Nakhon Pathom. The soybean meal samples were composed of 30 Thai, 26 Indian and 20 Brazilian soybean meal. The fish meal samples are composed 9 grade 1 imported fish meal, and 45 grade 1, 55 grade 2 and 50 grade 3 domestic fish meal. The above relationships have been formulated into prediction equations of different amino acid contents from the content of protein. The equation have been tested with the actual samples and compared with the actual amino acids content analyzed by HPLC. The results have indicated that the following amino acid prediction equations had high coefficient of determination (R2) and the accuracy of prediction is within 10 percents of the actual value. Thai soybean meal: Threonine, Aspartic acid, Glutamic acid, Serine and Alanine. Grade 1 imported fish meal: Threonine, Valine, Isoleucine and Glutamic acid. Grade 1 domestic fish meal: Leucine. Grade 3 domestic fish meal; Methionine, Arginine, Aspartic acid and Glutamic acid. Pooled grade of domestic fish meal; Lysine, Threonine, Glycine, Phenylalanine, Glutamic acid, Serine and Alanine.
