Study of swine manure digested by EM and Methane former bacteria was carried out in five 4.15 liters batch intermittently reactors. The experiment was assigned in RBD of 5 treatments which containing the control treatment (SM), swine manure added EM in start up (SM&EM), EM treated swine manure (EMSM), EM treated swine manure added sludge methane former in start up (EMSM&MF) and swine manure added sludge methane former in start up (SM&MF). Results of the study showed that SM&MF and EMSM&MF were not significant different in efficiencies of BOD, COD, TS and TVS removal. These two reactors had better efficiencies than the SM and SM&EM (P0.05). EMSM was found to have least efficiencies of BOD, COD, TS and TVS removal (p0.05). For total gas production per added organic weight and removal, EMSM&MF gave higher value than the SM and SM&MF (p0.05). EMSM was the least for total gas production per added organic weight and removal (p0.05). It was found that the SM and SM&MF were not significant different in methane content, the values of the two reactor were higher than those of EMSM&MF and SM&EM (p0.05) while EMSM gave the least for methane content (p0.05). Results of chemical analysis also showed that digested sludge contained high nutritive and fertilizer values.
