[Morbidity at workers in slaughering industry in the Vojvodina Province [Serbia, Yugoslavia] in 1997]

The aim of this paper is to present frequency of diseases caused by the activity of factors in work environment at workers employed in the part of the slaughtering industry in the Vojvodina Province, Serbia (Yugoslavia) in 1997. According to qualification structure, in the male category the greatest number of them are in the group of skilled workers, and in female category - unskilled workers, which is significant (p0.001). Very significant difference is also determined at great number of males with higher category - age group 30-34, without significant difference (p0.05). At males the greatest number of workers with total work experience (TWE) are in the group 10-14 years of work, while at females 15-19 years of work (p0.001). In general morbidity, the first leading group encompass totally 64.91% of all determined diseases, while in specific morbidity (for workers in special working conditions) the first leading disease groups encompass totally 65.00% of all determined pathological conditions (P0.05). The first leading diseases in general in morbidity (injuries at work, acute respiratory diseases and injuries out at work) participate with 52.10% while in specific morbidity (bone - muscle system diseases, obesity and hypertension) they participate with 50.59% (p0.05). In the paper, preventive measures are recommended, too.
