A survey of some plant diseases in the Ruhr area [Germany]

Until now there is only little information on the occurrence of microfungi in the Ruhr area. As a result of our examinations during the last two years, we would like to present some special species of saprophytic and parasitic microfungi of this region preserved in the newly founded mycological herbarium (ESS) (Mycotheca Parva). Some of these species are listed below. Albosynnoma cf. elegans on Viburnum spec., Asteroma carpini (Lib.) Sutton on Carpinus betulus L., Chaetoconis polygoni (Ell. & Ev.) Clements on Cytospora lantanae Bres. on Viburnum lantana L., Discosia artocreas (Tode) Fr. on Populus tremula L., Entyloma ficariae Thuem. on Ranunculus ficaria L., Eutypella pruna-stri (Pers.) Sacc. on Prunus avium L., Spilocaea pomi Fr. ex Fr. (=Fusidadium orbiculatum (Desm.) Thuem.) on Sorbus intermedia (Ehrh.) Pers., Microbotryum stellariae (J. Sowerby) G. Deml & F. Oberwinkler on Myosoton aquaticum (L.) Moench. (= Stellaria aquatica (L.) Scop.), Passalora depressa (Berk. & Broome) Sacc. on Angelica sylvestris L., Phyllachora graminis (Pers.) Fuckel on Agropyron repens L. and Phleum pratense L.
