A review of the factors for mechanical potato damages

Three factor groups are reviewed. The first group integrates the factors related to bio-physical properties of potato tubers. The higher effect factor from this group is dry matter tuber content, because it determines the damage type. In the second group are the factors related to conditions of growing and harvesting. The factots influences are complicated and there is no dominating one. The third group includes the factors related to interactions between potato tubers and working units. The list in this group is lomg and the strongest effects have the type of used units and the chosen mode of operation.
