In order to montain soil fertility, a regular and sufficient supply of organic matter is of great importance. Along with the changes in the structure of plant and animal production the importance of individual organic fertilizers has been changing. With the management without animal production it is inevitable to replace the missing farmyard manures by other resources of organic matter. The most important sources are the straw of cereals, rape, grain corn and legumes. Other important and so far underestimated source is the growing of catch crops for green manure. Nowadays all beet tops are being incorporated into soil. There are described suitable ways of organic fertilizing in the management without animal production with regard to the maintenance of soil fertility, preservation of yield stability of grown crops and sustainability of plant production.
