Table Grapes

Curative feature of grapes is well known. All variaties of grape are edible, but so called Table Grapes are more used for this purpose. They contain carbon, vitamins, acids and minerals. From 500 variaties, met in Georgia, 45 were Table variaties, but the majority of them disappeared because of fungus diseases and pilloxera. Some of them are preserved in residential plots and deserted settlements, in the form of separate vines. Scientific institutions have conducted important works on breeding of new Table variaties in order to improve the above situation. About 100 Table variaties are imported from the republics of Middle Asia and other countries. These are: Very Early, Early, Middle, Late and Very Late Variaties, That were planted in the State Viticulture Farm of Khrami for testing and identification of the best ones. From 100 imported variaties about 30 variaties were selected, that have good yields, high quality, are good looking and have good taste. 60 ha of new vineyards were cultivated in different districts of georgia. This created large network of parent plots, but unfortunately they lack care.
