Leaf rust resistance in rye - evaluation, genetic analysis and molecular mapping
2000
Roux, S.R. | Ruge, B. | Linz, A. | Wehling, P.
Leaf rust (Puccinia recondita f.sp.secalis) is endemic in all winter rye growing areas. Information on resistance genes, however, is limited. In a screening approach 17 potential sources for leaf rust resistance were selected among more than 530 genebank accessions. In segregating F2 and BC1 families, five dominant major resistance genes were identified. These genes have preliminarily been designated Lr-a, Lr-b, Lr-c, Lr-g and Lr-h, respectively.
