Recently, in the acacia woodlands, symptoms of branch necrosis showing bark spots have appeared quite frequently.It is a complex disease, in the development of which fungi living in barks take part following some influencing factors.The most frequently occuring species are Diaporthe oncostoma (Duby)Fuck.(anamorph Phomopsis oncostoma Höhn.), Cucurbitaria elongata (Fr.)Grev.(anamorph Camarosporium robiniae Westend./sacc.), Massaria anomia (Fr.)Petrak.as well as Fusarium lateritium Nees.ex Link and F.avenaceum (Fr.) Sacc.inducing cancer phenomena of perennial character.The authors analyze the disease symptomps, the fungi and the factors influencing their establishment, on the basis of investigations made in 1997 and 1998.
