Effects of uniconazole and gibberellin treatment on flower bud formation of Chinese kale (Brassica oleracea L. var. alboglabra L. H. Bailey) were investigated. The frequency of budding and anthesis plants decreased with uniconazole treatment compared with control and gibberellin treatment plants. In white petals cultivar "Kuro" treated with uniconazole (5 or 20 ppm) the budding and anthesis occurred 4-14 days and 8-27 days later, respectively, than that of control plants. But the delay of budding and anthesis with uniconazole treatment was decreased to 1-9 days and 4-20 days, respectively, with the treatment of 100 ppm gibberellin. Floral development of yellow petals cultivar, "Chugoku-kairan (Y)" was inhibited with uniconazole treatment in spring. There was no difference in node number from cotyledon to flower between uniconazole and gibberellin treatment plants
