2000
Zableckiene, D. (Lithuanian Inst. of Agriculture, Kaltinenai (Lithuania). Kaltinenai Research Station)
A soddy-podzolic loamy soil predominates in the field of the Kaltinenai Research Station. It has a varying agrochemical, and a miched textural composition. This kind of soil is strongly podzolized, thus even deep horizons of the soil give on acid reaction. Carbonate, well aerated soil on the slopes is very scarce. The most suitable herbage for grazing is red clover or white clover in combination with spiked grasses. It was determined, that on soil less suitable for lucerne, the best growing method was to sow it in combination with other grasses
