[Agrobiological value of perennial grasses in a crop rotation]

Long-term stationary field trials were conducted at the Voke Branch of the Lithuanian Institute of Agriculture on a soddy-podzolic sandy loam soil. It was determined that in the crpo rotation perennial grasses were the source of soil organic matter. Laboratory studies showed that perennial grasses were a better green manure than annual crops. They influenced the state of humus by increasing its content and improving composition, and activated the biological processes in the soil
