The performance of different pea cultivars viz, Progress, Climax, Green Sword, Kohat Local, Almata, Novana, Orgatia, Dasan, Early Tarnab and Carvella was studied for germination, growth disease scoring and green pod yield in the agro-climatic conditions of Kohat valley through this experiment at Barani Agricultural Research Station, during 1996-97. All the parameters under observation were found statistically significant. Progress, Green Sword and Novana showed maximum germination (99.3 %). Earlier picking (135 days) was observed in cultivar Kohat local while Alamato was declared as the late cultivar (142 days). Dasan produced the maximum number (50) of pods/plant as compared to the minimum (23) of Organa. Cultivar Organa was ranked first in number of seeds/pod (6.8) and pod width (1.32 cm), whereas minimum number of seeds/pod (5.2) were Produced by Progress. Pod length was maximum in cultivar climax (9.4 cm), whereas minimum (6.3 cm) was recorded for Almata. Powdery mildew incidence was found minimum (5 %) in Early Tarnab whereas Carvella had maximum susceptibility (32%). Cultivar Dasan produced maximum yield (9792.6 kg/ha) as compared to lowest yield (618.6 kg/ha) of Novana. Cultivar Dasan and Early Tanab are recommended on the basis of high yield and disease resistance character for the general cultivation at Kohat valley.
