Soil and growing condition may effect the nutrient content of any plant product. Chemical analysis of local produce is required for nutritional and health purposes. Guava is an inexpensive fruit grown locally and could be available all year round. Total protein, fibre and ash contents of guava grown in one region (Malir) of Karachi were studied using official AOAC methods.
