The short history of meadow and pasture forming in the country till 1939 and the role of those areas in animal production were given. The progress which had occurred in intensification of fodder production on grassland after Second World War throughout drainage, make productive, irrigation, fertilization, proper pasture use, harvesting and folder conservation, breeding and seeds production and other factors were discussed. The run of meadows and pastures yielding in the years 1950-97, value and economic assessment of harvests and the potential production possibilities of those lands were given
