Changes of market offer of the dairy sector and high potential of raw milk production and milk processing determine the opportunities of the Polish dairy sector development. It creates conditions of a high attractiveness of the dairy sector for foreign investors. The aim of this study was to evaluate the specifity and importance of investments (including foreign ones) for market situation and strategic position of the Polish dairy sector. The factors affecting the competition possibility on domestic and foreign markets especially in the process of EU integration are described. The evaluation was conducted among particular parts of the "dairy chain" and as a result of foreign investments in dairy sector
