Bruchids are important pests that infest mungbean seeds in storage. A number or resistant lines have been developed from the joint effort between Kasetsart University and the Asian Vegetable Research and Development Center (AVRDC). Near-isogenic lines derived from the cultivars KPS 1' and CN 60 were tested for resistance to both Callosobruchus chinensis and C. maculatus in dry season 1996 and rainy season 1997. The near-isogenic lines are not differnt from the recurrent parents in all agronomic characters except the number of seeds per pod and plant height of the near-isogenic lines of CN 60 that found greater than the parental cultivar.
