Eight species of VA-mycorrhizal fungi, Entrophospora colombiana, Acaulospora dilatata, Glomus intraradices, Acaulospora scrobiculata, Glomus claroideum, Glomus tenuis, Gigaspora sp. No. 1 and Entrophospora sp. No. 1. were examined. Effects of various VA-mycorrhizal fungi on growth of mungbean (Vigna radiata L.) in sterilized soil were studied. The results showed that the height of plants inoculated with various VA-mycorrhizal fungi were significant. Root dry weight of mungbean infected by A. dilatata was 9.25 gram/plant which more than those of plants which inoculated by G. tenuis, G. claroideum, Gigaspora sp. No. 1, Entrophospora sp. No. 1 and non inoculation. But root dry weight of those treatments were not significant as compared to the plants which infected by E. colombiana, G. intraradices and A. scrobiculata. Yield of mungbean which infected by A. dilatata was highest. Root infection percentages of plants infected by E. colombiana, G. intraradices and Gigaspora sp. No. 1 were more than the others. Phosphorus content in plants among inoculated plants and non-inoculated plant were not significant. Two species of VA-mycorrhiza, G. intraradices and A. dilatata, were examined in field with four rates of rock phosphate (0, 20, 60 and 80 kg/rai), and rhizobium inoculation. The experiment was 3*4*2 factorial in randomized complete block design with 3 replications. The result revealed that inoculation of mycorrhiza had no effect on plant height, seed weight, N and P content. Stem dry matter of plant was increased in the treatments which inoculated with rhizobium inoculum as well as in G. intraradices+20 kg/rai of rock phosphate treatment meanwhile the maximum root dry matter was found in A. dilatata+20 kg/rai of rock phosphate treatment (5.28 g/plant). Inoculation of A. dilatata and Rhizobium sp. induced the plant to have maximum yeild as much as 148.82 kg/rai. The maximum of nitrogenase activity (8.64 micro moles/plant/hour) was found in the treatment when applied 20 kg/rai of rock phosphate.
