Cost effectiveness analysis in tobacco-curing: Case study in flue-curing and centrally-heated bulk curing at Lumphun

Objective of this study are to analysis and compare the most selection of Tobacco-Curing with Flue-Curing and Centrally-Heated Bulk Curing base on The Cost Effectiveness method. Data used in this study: Primary data by surveyed the identified studied Tobacco-Curing Station and Secondary data by studied report, secondary source and interviewed the officers who directly corncerned with the Flue-Curing and Centrally-Heated Bulk Curing. The results of Financial-Cost Effectiveness Analysis such as at all specified discount rate: 9, 12 and 16 percent, the present value of cost in tobacco curing by Centrally-Heated Bulk Curing was lowest as 12,184,277.71 baht, 10,871,002.60 baht and 9,575,155.74 baht respectively. The results of Economics-Cost Effectiveness Analysis such as at all specified discount rate: 9, 12 and 16 percent, the present value of cost in tobacco curing by Centrally-Heated Bulk Curing was lowest as 10,469,783.76 baht, 9,279,422.67 baht and 8,105,327.86 baht respectively. Because of the benefit of using Centrally-Heated Bulk Curing such as; the energy saving by the effective firing and heating, and low external effect to the environment. The promotion and subsidization should be realized for producer to change the tobacco curing technology to Centrally-Heated Bulk Curing, that realized more utilization of resources.
