In vitro production of gladiolus cormel

Young Stalks of gladiolus CV. Priscilla and Summer Rose established on MS media supplemented with BA 2 mg/l could grow and develop young plants after cultured for 1 month, young plants of both cultivar could proliferate 6 and 9.6 plants/culture after cultured 1 month on MS media supplemented with BA 0.1 and 0.5 mg/l, Priscilla had 25.2 roots/culture in MS media with NAA 0.1 mg/l. Both cultivar showed cormels development in all madia. Summer Rose could be harvested 136 days after cultured and had 10 cormel/culture in media MS1+NAA 0.1 mg/l, MS2 and MS2+NAA 0.1 mg/l. Priscilla could be harvested 126 days after cultured and had 5.6 cormels/culture in MS1+NAA 0.5 mg/l. According to the study on the cost of cormel production in Summer Rose, could produce 9,480 cormels and unit cost was estimated at 2.92 baht.
